ABOUT US |
Reginald Charles Bruce Mathalone b. May 29 1987 Kingston, England After living in England Reggie moved to Dubai and then Malaysia. After four years he moved to Houston, where he has lived since. He attended Memorial Junior High and was mainly interested in visual art; he became interested in music in the seventh grade, when he began piano lessons under the direction of Lynn Anders, and started bass in beginning orchestra. That same year he began composing, initially because beginning piano pieces were not enough of a challenge. That reason soon evaporated and left the passion for composing pieces for other instruments. Reggie's first compositional inspiration was Dvorak's The Water Goblin, which he heard on a set of BBC music CD's his mother gave him. Other composers who influence him are Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Kabalevsky, Beethoven, Clint Mansell, Paul Speath, Mahler, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Barber-- the list goes on. Some of Reggie's other interests are visual art, reading/literary analysis, film score, and cursing at Andrew. When he grows up, he hopes to compose, if not for film score then just in general.
