Mercy has lived in Japan and China for short periods of time, but most of her life has been spent in Houston. She began taking cello lessons ages ago with Diane Bonds. Ms. Bonds has been her only teacher.

Mercy attended Johnston Middle School (a music magnet program) and is now at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She joined the Composition Club in order to attempt to write music and play new compositions. Her long term goals are to attend the University of Indiana (majoring in music), the Conservatory of Music in Muenich, and eventually join the Berlin Philharmonic. She is currently working a piece for two 'cellos.

Mercy's other intrests include her Japanese class every Saturday. She has been studying Japanese for the past four years. She also enjoys writing poetry.
