ABOUT US
Matt Kline b. Feb. 24, 1989

Although Matt grew up surrounded by music he did not find his passion for it until the late age of 13. He began piano lessons with Sandy Toews at 11 and Doulbebass two years later with Chris Burns. The break of his bass career came when he won the HYS concerto competition with the Capuzzi Double Bass Concerto. To quote Dr. Evans "This is even better than a viola concerto". Shortly after that he began lessons with Professor Paul Ellison at Rice University which greatly increased his playing. He also began high school at Hspva where found the great pleasure of General Joe's chicken; Matt was one of the first customers in helping start its now global domination of all poultry based restauraunts. That year he also became the principal bassist of Virtuosi of Houston, proving that people with good haircuts could actually penetrate their fortress of evil. When Matt joined the Composers club, he completed his first string quartet, a major turning point in musical history. This piece was to introduce the Mezzo Poco Attacca, a new unorthodox method that was met with controversy. Matt credited inspiration to such composers as Mahler, Bartok, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Shostakovich, Stravinsky... etc. Just as he was getting to the peak of his musical formation, his life came to a tragic end. One day, while waiting at Star Pizza, Matt was run down by a mob of Ricky Martin Enthusiats, apparently apalled at the fashionably horrific clothes he had purchased that very afternoon. Matt's music will live on through eternity, speaking to all generations. His violin sonata has already made third on the greatest compositions list, behind 1812 Overture and some gay jewish guy's piece. Matt's life and his music can basically be summed up into one phrase (in fact it was his final words before his death).."At least I got to talk to Dr. Megna."
